Lyssa Bivens

Lyssa Bivens is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) under the supervision of Brian Vega, LPC, NCC. Lyssa earned her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Missouri State University in 2025. Lyssa has experience working with individuals and couples seeking counseling for a number of reasons such as processing past trauma, relationship difficulties, and managing symptoms of anxiety and depression. Lyssa’s approach to counseling is integrative, with an emphasis on somatic and holistic care.

My Approach

I believe that the most important factor in helpful and effective counseling is a safe and genuine relationship between the counselor and the client. I have a passion for working with women, couples wanting to cultivate healthy and happy relationships, and individuals working to recover from trauma.
Whatever our focus, I approach therapy from a somatic and holistic perspective— I want to help you understand your nervous system and its response to trauma and stress. I believe that you have to work with both the mind and body for healing and growth to occur.
