Zach Engler

MA, LPC

Zach is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri, Kansas, Texas and Colorado. He earned his Master of Science degree in Counseling from Missouri State University in 2016. Zach worked as an intern at Drury University and OTC. After graduating, he went on to work with teens who struggled with substance use issues before starting his own private practice in 2018. He has been counseling full-time ever since.

Zach has worked with a wide variety of clients over the years. His passions include working with college students, young adults and the LGBTQ+ community. He offers a safe space for clients to discover and express their true self. That is why he became licensed in the states of Kansas and Texas as well, to provide a safe space for the queer community who live in under-severed areas. He also really enjoys working with college students, or recently graduated college students, who are trying to find their own path in this world. He works with older teens as well, 16+.

Zach believes that his job as a counselor is to help empower you and to work with you to find solutions to the problems that you are currently facing; whether it be anxiety, depression, school/job related stressors, life transitions and exploring identity struggles through self-discovery, he is here to help. Sometimes just having a judgement free place to talk can make all the difference when life stressors are impacting your daily functioning.

The therapy modalities he currently uses are Internal Family Systems (IFS), which he has found to be a very powerful tool to help unlock and heal past traumas, while also understanding why we have developed the coping strategies that we do and why they may keep you feeling stuck. He also uses Solution Focused Counseling techniques as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy and Talk Therapy interchangeably to help get to the root of your individual needs. Everyone is unique so he tailors your treatment to fit your individual personality, needs and goals. Laid back and accepting environment. He offers both in-person and virtual counseling sessions.
